Dwarf Planet Guide and Information - Ceres |
![]() | Name |
Ceres orbits the Sun between Mars and Jupiter, taking around 4½ years to do so. Its greater proximity to Earth means it was discovered much earlier than Pluto, in 1801. It is considerably smaller than any of the other main objects orbiting the Sun, but is reasonably large compared to many Kupier Belt objects, thus deserving the same rank as them of dwarf planet. |
